NEWS:
The people of Fulton Community Church welcome you!
We are excited to have you visit, and are glad you have decided to get acquainted with our church. We pray that you will visit and see for yourself what God is doing at Fulton Community Church.
Christ's love and the presence of the Holy Spirit will greet you as you walk through our doors.
To provide living proof of a loving God to a watching world.
To fulfill the roles God has given each of us in seeing souls saved and lives changed.
Aiding in the spiritual growth and strengthening of the body of Christ through the teaching of God's Word.
To minister to those in need.
To encourage each other to learn the will of God for our lives.
Our Beliefs:
THE BIBLE:
The books of the Bible were written by men inspired by God’s Spirit, without error. Every word of it is true.
The Bible is the supreme and final authority in doctrine and practice and, therefore, our church follows its truths rather than man-made traditions.
JESUS CHRIST:
The entire Bible centers on Jesus Christ. He is the focus of both Old and New Testaments. Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God.
He became man without ceasing to be God. He took upon Himself human nature, without sin. He became man in order to reveal God and redeem sinful people. He redeemed us from the penalty of our own sin by dying on the Cross in our place.
He now dwells in all believers as their living and ever-present Lord and will return one day in power and glory to judge the world and to perfectly complete His work of redemption.
THE HOLY SPIRIT:
The Holy Spirit is a divine person. He is not like God; He is God. Therefore, He possesses all the characteristics of God. As a person, He has thoughts, feelings, and a will. As a divine person, He is eternal and omnipresent and He knows everything and He is almighty.
God has revealed Himself as a Trinity. He is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son.
The Spirit of God carries out the will of God: in creation, in written revelation (the Bible), and in redemption. He persuades us to acknowledge our sin and to realize our need for Jesus as Savior. From the inside out, He brings about great change.
He inspired the writing of the Bible and opens the Word of God so that the children of God look more and more like their heavenly Father by turning from wrongdoing, to help us to serve in a way that pleases God. We receive gifts from the Spirit, beyond our natural talents, to enable us to worship, witness, and work for God.
Salvation:
God made us in His own image so that we can relate to Him personally. The Creator of the universe desires a relationship with us. Since our purpose is to relate to God personally, we cannot find a sense of identity or worth apart from Him.
Since sin is present in us, and has such strong power over us, we need outside help in being delivered from it.
This is a very serious matter since, among the consequences of sin, are separation from God and judgment by God. He cannot tolerate sin; He is holy.
But God is also amazingly merciful. Therefore, He has graciously provided a means by which we can be saved from the penalty, power, and even presence of sin. The means of this salvation is faith alone in the finished and complete work of Christ who died, as our substitute, on the Cross.
In dying for our sin, Christ bore the penalty due us. This is God’s doing entirely. It is not a result of human merit or effort. Man could never make up for sin through self-improvement or good works. It is the gift of God brought to us by grace and based on personal faith placed in the finished work of Christ who died in our place.
Each of us, as prompted and enabled by God, must make the decision to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Savior. Rejecting His pardon for our sin means we bear the penalty for it ourselves, now and forever.
Our History
The Town of Fulton school district originally owned our land. Our church was actually the Fulton Elementary school. Some of the original students are still active members of the church. The Town of Fulton donated the building and property, in 1943, to establish the Fulton Baptist Church. In 1984 a new sanctuary was added, which is now our fellowship hall. In 1996 we built a 10,000 square foot, 750 seat auditorium, with state of the art sound and projection systems.
In 1988, we changed our name to Fulton Community Church to better reflect our non-denominational congregation. We operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues and the laying on of hands.
We are a well established church with services that are a blend of both traditional and contemporary.
Over the years we have seen many changes. We are expectant and awaiting with open hearts, the move of God. We invite you to be a part.
Our God is an awesome God! Jesus Christ is the only way to reach Him. The Holy Spirit empowers us to live for Him!
